Carter Buchanan - AARoads.com Contributor

Born in Hickory, North Carolina in 1975 and currently residing in the Greenville, SC area since 1988, Carter Buchanan became intrested in transportation as a whole as a young child, mostly due to exposure from both grandfathers love of travel and their old maps. My primary focus are roads and infrastructure in South Carolina, western North Carolina, eastern Tennessee and the Space Coast region of Florida, but I have also traveled the eastern half of the US from Houlten, Maine to Lafayette, Louisiana and Chicago to Bradenton, Florida. Through the net I ran into the AARoads site around 2000 where I became a contributor and later met the webmasters in late 2001. Currently, I am a student at Greenville Technical College in the Geomatics Technology program. The program is a two year degree with a emphasis on surveying and geographic information systems (GIS) and hope to become actively employed in a transportation related organization. |
My other transportation intrests are railroads, aviation, marine and intercity bus lines. Outside of transportation other intrests are camping, hiking, drag racing, basketball, Ford Mustangs (I drive a 1994 Mustang GT), classic cars and helping others work on or modify cars. |
