Actually highway 58 is an extremely busy highway between the hours of 6am to 6pm on any given weekday…..its the only corridor between the California Coast and Vegas between LA and around Sacramento.

Just finished driving Hwy 58 in my M3 convertible, on 2/18/08. This is now on my list of top 5 roads in the USA. The variety of the scenery is awesome. You know it is a special road when you all you pass are motorcycles and Porsches.

You could be right.I was on another very lonely road in California; Ca 167 from near Lee Vining to Hawthorne NV. I remember passing only about 5-10 cars in the stretch of about 60 miles.

Please send those photos please. I been on that road as well, but never realized how lonely it is. I did see a few cars passing by though, but there’s nothing on the road to enjoy besides desert.

yeah … and CA33 from Coalinga to CA25 is just as devoid of traffic. Same with a lot of CA 25. Pretty country though. Post the picks.
