They are appearing in a town near you!
We found a few instances of the new highway sign this weekend including a South Carolina 303 shield in Walterboro and several South Carolina 6 shields in Moncks Corner.
It appears that the standard 3di-width shield will be used as the default for all shields, as every shield for South Carolina 6 and South Carolina 6 Truck used the same base.

The new SC shields look really nice, but some of the numerals just look really small under the new shield.

I’m undecided if I like these signs or not.

I believe all new SC highway signs (not incl. Ineterstates & US Highways) are going to be sized the same, whether it’s a 3, 2, or 1 digit highway number. Probably cheaper if they are all the same size.

This seems to be South Carolina’s new palmetto/crescent design recently introduced on their new license plates this summer.

I was down south over the holidays–on my way back north after having been in Central Florida and later on St. Simons–I headed up inland to avoid going on 95 through SE Georgia into South Carolina–I saw a number of those new signs along US 321—I like ‘em–I live in Ohio–I hear we are going to be getting some new signage over time too–I hope that our signs will look as good!
