It gets even better. NC DOT decided to open the new road without replacing ANY of the signs on the old road. So, there are two completely different "Blue" 40s in Greensboro now. DOT says it will be 3-4 weeks before they can replace the signs. So my question is WHY DID YOU OPEN THE ROAD?

We recently had a basketball tournament here (ACC). 1 in 3 drivers got lost due to NC DOT's pathetic signing.

What is more confusing, is that I found Future Interstate 73 shields posted consistently along the U.S. 220 freeway leading south from what was Interstate 40 & U.S. 421 to Interstate 85. Now that Interstate 73 is signed along Interstate 40 (Painter Boulevard), what is the status of those shields or that proposed routing?

This is one more major project finished by the North Carolina Dept of Trans. There needs to be some clarification on the interstates on this new segment of I-40. It only adds to the confusion to have I-73 shields added.

Too many interstates on one road. Okay NC... time to get those exit numbers and mile-posts recalibrated if we're going to continue to play this game of relocating interstates.
