Three blocks west of the Wilmington city line is the signalized intersection with Alban Drive. Several older style Eagle signals remained in use along Maryland Avenue between Wilmington and Newport until Summer 2004. The southern reaches of Canby Park extend to Delaware 4 (Maryland Avenue) between Clayton Road and Race Street. A junction shield for Delaware 100 (Race Street) resides ahead of the Germay Drive intersection. The state route becomes Maryland 279 at the border and intersects the Exit 109 interchange of Interstate 95 one mile south of there.
