Delaware 34 coincides with all of Faulkland Road between Duncan Road and Delaware 100 (Dupont Road). The state route undulates over hills north of Prices Corner and Elsmere through Brandywine Springs State Park, Faulkland, and Lancaster Village. Commissioned in 1984, Delaware 34 offers an alternate to Delaware 2 (Kirkwood Highway) between Delaware 41 & Milltown Road and the city of Wilmington.

Delaware 34 draws to a close at the intersection with Duncan Road west of Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike). An end sign is tucked away across Duncan Road in some trees. To the left Duncan Road intersects Milltown Road and Delaware 2 (Kirkwood Highway) en route to Marshallton. Since this photo was taken, tree branches have completely obscured the end sign. Photo taken 10/11/01. |

Duncan Road northbound at the eastbound beginning of Delaware 34 (Faulkland Road). No Delaware 34 shields are posted on Duncan Road north or south at the western terminus. To the north Duncan Road enters the Delcastle State Recreational Park and McKennans Church Road. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

The eastbound beginning of Delaware 34 as Faulkland Road descends to Wordsworth Drive. At the crest of the next hill is the signalized intersection with Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike). Photo taken 03/20/04. |

Faulkland Road expands to four overall lanes between the Brandywine Valley Railroad and the eastern terminus at Delaware 100 (Dupont Road). The state route cuts between Silverside and Beth Emeth Memorial Parks between the railroad crossing and Dupont Road. Photo taken 03/20/04. |
 |
Delaware 34 curves to intersect Delaware 100 at a 90 degree angle. No end sign is present and instead a Delaware 100 shield and Delaware 2 trailblazer are posted instead. Dupont Road intersects Delaware 2 (Kirkwood Highway) 0.75 miles to the south in Elsmere. Delaware 100 north merges with Delaware 48 (Lancaster Avenue) in 1,000 feet at the Wilmington city line to the left. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

Dupont Road southbound at the Delaware 100 south & 34 westbound split. Delaware 34 travels Faulkland Road westward to junction Delaware 141 (Centre Road), Centerville Road, Brandywine Springs Park, junction Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike) and Duncan Road. Delaware 100 continues along Dupont Road southbound to Elsmere, junction Delaware 2, and Richardson Park (junction Delaware 4). Photo taken 04/26/04. |

Delaware 34 (Faulkland Road) westbound as it leaves Delaware 100 (Dupont Road) north of Elsmere. Faulkland Road exists as a two-lane residential roadway between Dupont Road and Centerville Road. However between Centerville Road and Delaware 41 the route takes on a completely different character through a deep valley created by the Red Clay Creek. There Delaware 34 crosses the Wilmington & Western Railroad and Brandywine Springs Park. Photo taken 03/29/04. |

Faulkland Road (Delaware 34) merges onto Delaware 100 at Silverbrook Memorial Park. The intersection composes the eastern terminus of Delaware 34. Dupont Road intersects Delaware 48 (Lancaster Avenue) ahead at the Wilmington city line. From there Delaware 48 & 100 overlap northward to junction Delaware 100 (Centre Road). Photo taken 04/26/04. |

Two tenths of a mile separates the beginning of Delaware 34 (Faulkland Road) with junction Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike). Delaware 34 logically should end at Delaware 41 but instead continues the final stretch of Faulkland Road to Duncan Road. Delaware 41 crosses Delaware 34 between the intersections of Milltown Road and Mill Creek Road. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

The intersection of Delaware 34 (Faulkland Road) and Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike) resides along the boundary of Brandywine Springs State Park. The park encompasses the grounds between the two state routes and nearby Red Clay Creek. Hiking trails, ball fields, picnic facilities, and historical markers touting the past of the park are among the amenities within the hilly park. In the early 1900s a boardwalk and amusement park facility existed along the Hyde Run, a tributary of the Red Clay Creek. The area was abandoned in the 1930s and nature has taken its course in reclaiming the land. Photo taken 04/03/04. |

Delaware 34 intersects Centerville Road north of Prices Corner. From there eastward the state route enters a residential area and Woodland Run Park amid a four-lane concrete roadway. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

Caleb Terrace ties into Faulkland Road just ahead of the intersection with Delaware 141 (Centre Road). Delaware 141 exists as a four-lane arterial between the Newport Freeway and Delaware 2 northward to Barley Mill Road. Photo taken 03/20/04. |
 |
Delaware 34 eastbound at Delaware 141 (Centre Road). If the Newport Freeway was extended as planned, the intersection here would instead be an interchange. The high density of housing in and around Delaware 34 and 141 south of Faulkland Road however preclude an easy upgrade of Centre Road to freeway standards. Photo taken 03/20/04. |
 |
Continuing eastbound on Delaware 34 (Faulkland Road) between Delaware 141 and Delaware 100 (Dupont Road). The Dupont Barley Mill facility encompasses all of the westbound frontage of Delaware 34 between Centre Road and Silverside Memorial Park. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

A second Delaware 34 eastbound reassurance shield on the stretch between Delaware 141 and 100. Here Faulkland Road rounds a bend at Chestnut Run Park after Montgomery Road. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

Delaware 34 eastbound at Oak Hill Drive and the east entrance to the Dupont Barley Mill site. These signals were installed in the early 1980s mainly for the Dupont gate. However with that stated, the gate itself is closed most of the time. Oak Hill Drive composes a residential street between Faulkland Road and the town of Elsmere. Photo taken 03/20/04. |

Descending along Faulkland Road westbound from the intersection of Delaware 141 (Centre Road). In the background is a traffic light for the south entrance to the Delaware Family Center and Kendall Road, one of several residential streets that tie into Delaware 34. Photo taken 03/20/04. |
 |
Faulkland Road winds its way westward to a signalized intersection at Centerville Road. Centerville Road stems northward from Delaware 141 and Delaware 2 (Kirkwood Highway) at Prices Corner to Delaware 82 (Campbell Road) at Hoopes Reservoir. A brief frontage street configuration exists along Delaware 34 from Centerville Road westward to Marlyn Drive. Photo taken 08/05/07. |
 |
Beyond the residential area at Marlyn Drive, Delaware 34 descends steeply into the Red Clay Creek valley at Brandywine Springs Park. The Wilmington and Western Railroad travels through the valley, crossing Faulkland Road adjacent to the creek. Delaware 34 through the valley is one of my favorite stretches of state highway in Delaware... Photo taken 08/05/07. |
 |
After ascending out of the valley, Delaware 34 meets the park entrance to Brandywine Springs State Park adjacent to another residential subdivision. Junction Delaware 41 (Newport Gap Pike) lies ahead. Photo taken 08/05/07. |
 |
Delaware 34 westbound at Delaware 41 (Newport Gape Pike), just east of its terminus at Duncan Road. An older set of Econolite traffic signals remain in use at this intersection here. Delaware 41 otherwise constitutes a main route between Lancaster, Pennsylvania via connections with U.S. 30 and the Wilmington metropolitan area. More locally, Delaware 41 serves the Hockessin community of northern New Castle County. Photo taken 08/05/07. |
