The Guide to Delaware Interstates
Three Interstates traverse the northern reaches of the state of Delaware: Interstate 95, America's Mainstreet; Interstate 495, the Wilmington Bypass; and Interstate 295, the Delaware Memorial Bridge. A fourth number, Interstate 895, was present in the First State between 1979 and 1982. Considerations exist within the road and engineer community for a potential Interstate 101 or other designation for the SR 1 Turnpike and potential U.S. 13 Delmarva freeway from Dover to Salisbury.
