OLG (Ontario Lottery and Gaming) has a new commercial which seems to be playing a lot. It references the "Double Rainbow" video, and it's so ridiculous, but it makes me laugh

I found this newspaper ad for a Remax (real estate) agent and just had to post it! Is this supposed to make me want to her hire her as my agent?


I'll also add the Fallsview Casino commercials as one of my favourite ad campaigns. I think this one could be the best of the bunch

Almost any commercial for bubble gum was ridiculous. I remember a commersh for Care-Free bubble gum in the mid-'80s where a woman says, "Hey, I avoid sugar. But sometimes I want..."

Meaningful pause...

"BUBBLE GUM!!!!!"

It was ridiculous. Absolutely roll-on-the-floor absurd. You had to be alive in the '80s to appreciate it.

Around here, it's Frisch's Big Boy, but it was otherwise the same jingle.

After this ad came out, we made fun of it - not just once, but for years and years and years. We've been poking fun at it for well over 30 years. It all started when we ran out of water and I said "There's no wa" to the tune of "Food so good" in that ad. The thing we do now is take a song title and use it in place of the words to the jingle. For instance, when the Eddie Money song "Walk On Water" came out, we sang, "Walk on water...is what you have to do to get to the bathrooms at Frisch's Big Boy...because the toilets overflow!"

Another one has to do with a Wings song from the '70s: "Listen to what the man said...listen to what the man from the health department said about eating at Frisch's Big Boy...because it's life-saving advice!"

Maybe not "funny" per se, but the Crest 3D toothpaste and Crest Whitestrips commercials always have people with great looking teeth complaining that they're teeth are yellow. It seems so ridiculous to me!

I guess they want people to think "if they think they're teeth are yellow, then my teeth are definitely yellow"

I can't believe I forgot this one! Acorn Stairlifts (I think this is a local commercial, so most of you probably won't know it). I'm watching Jeopardy, and they play it every commercial break during the show!

First of all, the lifts look so damn slow! I know they're retired, but give me break.
I also love how they all smile while riding the lift.
Some of the quotes, like "I'm the king of my own castle"
But best of all, the lift simply stops when it bumps into the toy on the stairs. What are they supposed to do when this happens? Are they trapped, will they never get down the stairs again? Lol

Around 1990, there was a commercial where a bunch of people in business suits threw huge piles of poop at each other. I don't remember what the commersh was for.
