While listening to Obamas' "I ♥ Cuba" announcement today I realized that I was older than the president of the US. Thats the 1st time that happened.... kinda made me feel old :-( :-D.
When did you become senior to a serving US prez?

Based on average ages of Presidents at time of election, probably not until 2040 or later.

Old people thread.

Yup.  I can check off the first item on the list, but all the others I'd have to be on Medicare.

I'll add that I'm old enough to have voted against, at least once, each of the first seven presidents on the list.

Since the Constitution requires a minimum age of 35 to be president, many of us will have to wait many years to even hypothetically have a president younger than them.

I laughed that Lyndon Johnson was a choice.

Do we have anyone on here aged 106 or older?

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

We haven't had a centenarian President yet (Ford, the oldest at death, made it just to age 93), and we have had damn few centenarian governors--just Albert Rosellini (WA), Nellie Tayloe Ross (WY), Jimmie Davis (LA), Alf Landon (KS), Roswell Colcord (NV), George Parks (AK) (if we include territorial governors, as Wikipedia does), and maybe one or two others.

I'm in this boat. I won't be old enough to be President for another 10 years. (And we have never had a President in their 30s–the youngest was 42 at time of elevation to the presidency–it was Theodore Roosevelt, who became president after William McKinley of the $500 bill was assassinated.)

The thread title includes the phrase "while in office", but the poll has their dates of birth, not their age when sworn in.  The youngest president to assume office was Teddy Roosevelt, who was 42 when McKinley died.

Since the original post specifically refers to being older than a currently-serving US president, the answer is none of the above. If the question were when you were first older than anyone who had ever served as president, the answer would be sometime in 2015 or 2016 when I'm 42 and I pass Theodore Roosevelt (as noted in kkt's post).

Just curious, do we even have members of this forum who were born before 1946?

mjb2002

None of them. Of course, I'm still younger than all of the ones that will be running in 2016.

Screw that

Do we have anyone born before January 1913 and would be able to select Ford? If so, please post more.

If the two major parties' tendency to run fossils for president continue, I doubt I'll live that long to be honest.

So he would've been born in either 1014 or 1015? I wonder what road geeking was like back then!
