At long last, sidewalks for part of U.S. 26 in Portland

I remember, when I moved to Portland, being thoroughly confused by my drive into town on Powell Boulevard coming from Mt. Hood. A narrow two-lane road, unpaved roads for side streets, no sidewalks.

Since then, I've moved to East Portland, understand the history a lot better and get why nobody bothered to put sidewalks on the road.

Legislature has funded $17 million to put sidewalks on part of it, anyway. Hooray. Sidewalks.

Sidewalks on Powell between 95th and 174th? Meh, overrated. Why deny natural selection? ;)

Pretty sure eradicating pedestrians would leave us all dead.
