The 1-2-3 Route Number Difference Game

Assuming people aren't too tired of these...

The idea will be to post a photo with two or more route numbers, take the difference betweem two of the numbers to get your "x" value. This "x" value will start at 1 and keep going up for as far as we can go :).

The formal rules will be the same as similar to the 1-2-3 challenge thread, to keep things easy.

1. Each person will post one photo at a time.
2. No person can contribute twice in a row unless 24 hours has gone by without any posts.
3. No Google Streetview images unless we're so stumped on a number that no one posts for 48 hours.
4. Interstitial discussion posts are allowed- feel free to talk about stuff as the game continues.
5. You may post from published websites, other Flickr accounts, or other outside sources, as long as you properly credit the source for your photo if necessary.
6. The number on the sign that is photographed must be shown on a route symbol.  Signs with third-person textual mentions of routes are not allowed.
7. Route numbers that contain lettered suffixes can be used; just ignore the letters.

I'll start the game off with this photo. My two routes will be 7 and 8. 8 - 7 = 1. So the next person has to post a photo with a difference of 2!

I'll take any good reason to post my pictures, really. :)

97 - 95 = 2 (East end of MN-97 at MN-95)

Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

US-65 and 69 between Des Moines and Indianola

No repeat posting within 5 numbers.

(Or is it 10 posts while still below 200? Needs clarification from OP.)

It's 5 posts. I fixed the rules to be clear on that.

MNHighwayMan

My bad, didn't read the rules thoroughly enough. Removed.

I'm already changing my mind on this, because I think this game will be slower than the 1-2-3 road sign challenge. Here's the new rule:

Quote2. No person can contribute twice in a row unless 24 hours has gone by without any posts.

This means MNHighwayMan can repost his photo (or someone else can post a photo for 4 if they beat him to it) :)

Next up is 14. This sign gives the added option of including that sum along with the numbers that create it (US 17, VA 3).

Government would be tolerable if not for politicians and bureaucrats.

Flickr makes this very simple...

This "simple" challenge is a little trickier than I thought!

27 - 10 = 17

It really is. I ended up going through all my pictures (a process that took over two hours) and listing all of the differences in a spreadsheet. Fortunately, over half of the pictures didn't feature more than one sign so it was less work than it sounds, but still.

25 - 7 = 18 (Beginning of MN-7 at the recently redone MN-100 interchange)
