Mississippi 22

Since I noticed this highway when I was traveling to Jackson earlier today, will it be re-numbered due to Interstate 22 being signed along former US 78--being that there is a precedent for the Magnolia State renumbering at least one other state highway when an Interstate was completed(Mississippi 10 in the "Golden Triangle" is now 50 due to Interstate 10 running along the coast).

I've not heard of any plans to do so.

And besides, Interstates and state route numbers have coexisted in many states; e.g. I-73 and NC 73. But I would not be surprised if MS 22 were to be renumbered due to I-22 also being present.

Mississippi doesn't typically like to duplicate numbers on its state system with US or interstate routes.

MS 69 and I-69 is another conflict.

Arkansas doesn't duplicate except for US 49 and I-49
also US 59 and State 59

Missouri has US 59 and State 59, MO 64 and I-64,  MO 49 and I-49, but otherwise doesn't duplicate.

MO 57 became MO 171, MO 44 became part of MO 76 with the advent of Interstates.

My state didn't duplicate prior to Interstate 39 being designated in 1992. Besides, State Highway 22 is far to the south of Interstate 22, so any confusion over the two routes will be nonexistent.
