In Texas, we require rectangular clearance signs for all bridges under about 28 feet (I'm too lazy to look up the exact number)

At highway bridges, they are attached to the bridge.

At railroad bridges, they are pole-mounted near the bridge.

The US 77 Union Pacific Railroad bridge in Denton is a little odd.
1. There is no rectangular clearance sign.
There is an incorrectly-colored curve warning sign mounted to the bridge itself. This sign appears to be a city installation that was done in the 70's when Bell Ave was attached to this intersection.

Here's something a bit different: ads on a sign gantry. (I guess it's OK because they're for city events.)

I like the underline of the cardinal direction for extra emphasis

The underlines used to be standard practice in Michigan before the switch was made to Clearview signs and cardinal directions having larger initial letters. A few of the older signs are still around.

I-787 just south of the NY 7 interchange. Here's northbound...

And southbound...

Since someone else reactivated this thread...

Spur has been abandoned for quite a while. The trackway over NY 32 was taken out between 2007 and 2011 and the rails were likely gone before then.

This is one of the highest overpasses I know of with an attached sign for traffic below. This sign is really pushing the limits of reflectance. It's Boone Rd. over I -71 near the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta.

I believe this was posted in another thread; it's on OH 315 south at I-70 where 315 meets up with I-71.
