Another nitpick:

https://goo.gl/maps/YKv6mrN5VS92

This section of Thunder Road (to the rear parking lot, anyway) is only for authorized vehicles for the Colonie Fire Department (see pavement markings/signs:  https://goo.gl/maps/2oNeLLNAeNC2).

Google typically routes you around it, but it seems it is still possible to be routed on the illegal side road.  There are a lot of Village offices behind the Fire Department, so this could be an issue.

Someone marked Palouse Cove Road near Palouse, WA as an extension of Idaho 66. The road is not a state highway in Washington.
Edit submitted, but it needs Google approval.

Glad to see the ALT US 20 was corrected to MA 20A and the single MA 31 shield south of the CT border was removed.
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

I take it I cleaned it up correctly then.  :-)

Can anyone who's familiar with the technical end of Google Maps explain this?

When I do a search of the address "31 East Fifth Street, Media, PA 19063" , Google's search results pinpoint the address at the correct location on the map, but it "autocorrects"  the address as "31 E 5th St, Chester, PA 19013" . But Media is definitely not Chester; it's not in the same ZIP code or the same municipality. There is a 31 East Fifth Street in Chester–about six miles away.

If you search "31 E 5th St, Chester, PA 19013" , Google pinpoints the location in Media–not Chester. And if you attempt to create a routing from "31 E 5th Street, Media"  to "31 E 5th St, Chester" , you get a zero-mile trip at one point.

Neither the USPS ZIP code search nor Apple Maps have any trouble correctly distinguishing between these two addresses.

Can anyone figure this out?

dfwmapper

There are a bunch of places in the real location that have the city set to Chester and the ZIP code set to 19013 instead of the correct Media/19063. My guess is that somehow addressing got screwed up on that street and it was carried over to all the places along there (places meaning any point feature, including businesses, address, etc.). I reported the error so there's at least a chance that it will get fixed at some point.

My request about Shell reverted back.  We do not close at 5 pm!!!

The POI shows as a claimed business, so likely it's being uploaded directly from whoever owns the POI.   I took a quick look on the history tab and saw lots of updates from Google.  Does Shell maintain any central data that they provide to Google for all stations?

You can go directly to this link and edit the hours https://mapmaker.google.com/mapmaker?gw=39&fid=0x8644cc3933b99d73:0x58605f91a60385c5

Oddly the hours are correct re that link but when I use google maps to navigate there it still thinks it closes at 5 pm.

The Twin Cities area they seem to be behind in showing off-road bicycle trails. Another section of the Mississippi River Regional Trail is open, starting here.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hastings,+MN+55033/@44.8120912,-93.0397979,54m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x87f7c14c19f418a7:0xb116e6025142627e!8m2!3d44.7443293!4d-92.8513706!5m1!1e3
You can follow the trail:
South along Cahill
South along Inver Grove Trail to 100th / Inver Grove
SouthWest along the railroad tracks.
South Along Courthouse Blvd until it vears off into the woods to the southeast here

Then finally ending here:

There's another segment that starts here

You can see the clearing for building it through the part as it twists it's way south then west, ending here

Also the Minnesota River Bottoms area is a mess. The segment running northeast from Old Cedar is dirt

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hastings,+MN+55033/@44.8322392,-93.2456421,423m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x87f7c14c19f418a7:0xb116e6025142627e!8m2!3d44.7443293!4d-92.8513706!5m1!1e3

There's also a dirt trail open to bicycles running the length of the river bottoms from the headquarters here:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hastings,+MN+55033/@44.8586785,-93.2185444,916m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x87f7c14c19f418a7:0xb116e6025142627e!8m2!3d44.7443293!4d-92.8513706!5m1!1e3
To the Bloomington Ferry Bridge

Most of which is not shown.

Here's a map someone else made showing the general locations
https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/6126495/minnesota-river-bottoms-lyndale-ave-to-bloomington-ferry-rd

Here the Nokomis- Minnesota River Regional Trail has a gap, it should extend all the way up to American, then along the side of American to 12th. Although it looks like a sidewalk this is actually officially the trail.
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Hastings,+MN+55033/@44.8590045,-93.2556782,784m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x87f7c14c19f418a7:0xb116e6025142627e!8m2!3d44.7443293!4d-92.8513706!5m1!1e3

Here the N-MR Trail extends on the east side of Cedar (not yet visable in aerial, is on Street view, to 68th, on the north side of 68th to 18th, up the west side of 18th/ Richfield Parkway until it meets the end shown on the map here.

Clinched, minus I-93 (I'm missing a few miles and my file is incorrect)

Traveled, plus US 13, 44, and 50, and several state routes

I will be in Burlington VT for the eclipse.

How are edits being handled then?

I read somewhere (I think in the "Map Maker is closing" explanation) that standard Google Maps will allow edits.

There are limited editing options (mainly for points of interest) in google maps.  For road, the options are extremely limited at this time (mainly the ability to report problems but no direct mapping).   Further options may come down the road.

Basically mapmaker had gotten very old, very buggy, and very hard to support for Google so they decided to pull the plug on it.  They promise to add more editing capabilities directly in maps in the future but time will tell.

Currently, you need to be a Level 3 (or higher) Local Guide to be able to edit everything (I think).

That's quite possible -- I started out at a Level 5 due to previous carryover experience points from Mapmaker so I've not experienced the interface without that level.

Western Mass classification corrections:
- MA Route 116 should be displayed as a freeway until just after the N Hadley Road interchange, then a super-2 to the MA-63 intersection.

I was going to add US-5 in W Springfield but someone already got to it

(The real) CT 31 north of US 44 is marked as CR 31 (CR's don't exist in CT).
Interstates I've clinched: 97, 290 (MA), 291 (CT), 291 (MA), 293, 295 (DE-NJ-PA), 295 (RI-MA), 384, 391, 395 (CT-MA), 395 (MD), 495 (DE), 610 (LA), 684, 691, 695 (MD), 695 (NY), 795 (MD)

Mapmaker is no longer available for former Regional Leads to do edits - you need to use "report a data problem" directly in Google maps and report the issue directly to Google.   Right click on the map to bring up the menu to select the option to report a data problem.  If that option doesn't show up then use the send feedback link at the bottom instead.

The southern end of IN 111 is not routed properly on Google Maps.  Google Maps shows it turning north on Old Dam 43 Rd SE and winding its way north and west to IN 11 at Laconia.  It actually turns south on Old Dam 43 Rd SE and dead ends at the Ohio River
Indiana: counties 100%, highways 100%
Illinois: counties 100%, highways 61%
Michigan: counties 100%, highways 56%
