That 1938 map of downtown Fresno is one of the better detailed ones I've seen.  Those route alignments must have been confusing as all hell with all those off-center downtown streets.

I'd hate to be on 299 when that landslide was happening, that would have been a crappy day having to back track to either 96 or 36 to reach Weaverville.  King of amusing the Trinity County Deputy used Forest Roads to get back home rather than taking a paved detour.  I'm kind of curious to find out if it was a Crown Vic and what roads he took.  Weaverville can't catch a break this year, the same thing happened on 3 earlier in 2016.

I'm not getting the whole I-9/I-7 thing ending in Stockton aside from it being a stop gap to Sacramento.  Feels like the topic of upgrading CA 99 to Interstate has been talked to death.
