Any experience with Apple SIM with GigSky in Canada?

Part of an upcoming trip will take me across a long stretch of Ontario from our crossing at I-81 via Ottawa, SSM, and Thunder Bay, then back into the US at MN 61.  I'm thinking of getting our cellular data needs for those few days serviced by the pretty new GigSky international service though my iPad Air 2 with an Apple SIM.  Does anyone have experience with this service?  Any thoughts about it?  I'm expecting coverage to be sparse anyway along much of this route, but it would be nice to get connected at least when we pass through towns along the way.

I'm not familiar with GigSky, but I use Roam Mobility when I travel the other way around and their generic SIM worked fine with my iPhone (they use T-Mobile).

I'm not sure how their "Apple SIM" is different... beside being sold in Apple stores?

Honestly if you can qualify for postpaid T-Mobile service, getting their $20 Simple Choice 1 GB data-only plan in advance and using it for the few days you're in Canada would likely be better - the data service in Canada will be limited to 2G speeds, but that should be sufficient for email, navigation, etc., and it doesn't count against your 1 GB allotment. You can also buy add-ons that will give you full speed access. Just be sure to use it some on the US side first - it won't activate in Canada.

just as an fyi, cell service is non-existent north of Sault Ste. Marie until closer to Thunder Bay.
