The subject says 'same model, different makes' which could be interpreted either way. Perhaps it should say 'same name, different manufacturer'.

Agreed. That would be a little clearer.

WE'RE NOT TALKING ABOUT BADGE ENGINEERING!  The subject is about nameplates that have been used by more than one marque.  Can't you folks read?

Seriously, take a deep breath, and CALM DOWN. It's a forum thread, not nuclear physics. You seem to be more worked-up on this than the person who started this topic.

Edsel/Chevrolet Citation

Most of Edsel's model names were re-used later for unrelated vehicles. (Citation, Corsair–later used by Ford in the UK and Australia–Pacer, Ranger, Villager) And the Comet was originally to have been an Edsel, but I suppose that doesn't really count.

From the 80's/90's
Buick Century/Chevy Celebrity/Pontiac 6000/Olds Cutlass Ciera/Cadillac DeVille
Chevy Cavalier/Buick Skyhawk/Olds Firenza/Pontiac J2000, Sunbird and Sunfire/Cadillac Cimarron
Buick Lesabre/Olds Delta 88/Pontiac Bonneville
Buick Roadmaster/Chevy Caprice/Cadillac Fleetwood
Pontiac Grand Am/Buick Somerset then Skylark/Chevy Malibu/Olds Cutlass Calais, Achieva and Alero
Buick Regal/Olds Cutlass Supreme/Pontiac Grand Prix/Chevy Lumina (2 door=Monte Carlo), Lumina later rebranded Impala.
Buick Riviera/Olds Toronado and Aurora/Cadillac Eldorado (4 door=Seville)
Buick Park Avenue/Olds 98
The above are examples of badge engineering, which I definitely was not going after when I first thought up this thread.

Yes, I probably should've made it clearer just to lessen confusion.

How about this one. Cosworth. Just used so many times, you had the Escort Cosworth, the Mercedes 190E Cosworth, Ford Sierra Cosworth, Vega Cosworth. I would consider that to be a shared Trim and Model name.

That's because they were their own tuning company. There's a number of vehicles bearing Lotus (or By Lotus) in their name as a tuning venture, such as Talbot and Isuzu.
