Noticed this a while back, and it's kind of funny...

Vidalia, LA and Natchez, MS are two different distribution zones for soft drinks. In Vidalia, Coke runs Dr Pepper, Pepsi is a Buffalo Rock Pepsi distributor, and 7up products are distributed by Glazer's. In Natchez, Coke runs Dr Pepper and the Nehi beverage portfolio (instead of just peach, you have peach and grape), while Pepsi runs 7up products, and is a Wispak Pepsi distributor. Meaning... one side of the river has Pepsi giving out Dr Wham (Buffalo Rock), and the other has Pepsi giving out Doc 360 (Wispak). However, drive about 30 minutes north of Vidalia, and cross into Franklin Parish, and all 7up products are distributed by Red River Beverage.

In Turkey Creek, you can buy Pibb, Pibb Zero, Mello Yello Zero, Sunkist Peach/Pineapple/Cherry Limeade, and Dr Pepper made with cane sugar. Drive to the next gas station to the north, and you can't find any of those.... but you CAN find Mug Rootbeer, which is not distributed in the Lafayette zone. Pepsi comes in 7up-style bottles like Canada Dry is... but you also can't find Sierra Mist anywhere - Acadiana Bottling has 7up instead.

So, after my mini-rant... who else has experienced an abrupt gap where one zone just drops off? If you drive along LA 10, you will experience New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria, and Lake Charles distribution zones. I was curious about Texas, with so many counties and decently sized towns, mainly the elusive Dr Pepper with cane sugar in 12oz cans.
