Construction just started on a southward extension of Lake Shore Drive (US 41) in Chicago, extending it to the site of the former USX South Chicago steel works, now under redevelopment.

Currently, LSD/US-41 ends at Marquette Drive and South Jeffrey Avenue

It would had been more cool if they connect it to the Skyway(I-90)
That (Skyway connection) might still come to fruition. Look at the map about halfway down the article that is over the 2nd video.
