SH-51 closes at US-177 in Stillwater through July

Eastbound and westbound SH-51 (Sixth St.) will be closed from the US-177 (Perkins Rd.) intersection west to the Stillwater Central Railroad tracks in Stillwater from 9 a.m. Monday, June 5, through July 25 as part of an ongoing intersection and bridge reconstruction project.

Access will be maintained to the Stillwater Milling Company during this closure.

Traffic will be detoured on US-177 (Perkins Rd.) to Hall of Fame Ave. to S. Main St. to SH-51 (Sixth St.) in cooperation with the City of Stillwater.

Additionally, US-177 will remain narrowed to one lane in each direction between Hall of Fame Ave. and 12th Ave.

Several utility relocation issues have delayed the completion of the $7.4 million project. It is anticipated that this SH-51 closure will put the completion of the project back on track for early September.

What a mess!  Downtown Stillwater will be a nightmare.

At least there are roads to it.  I suspect you may believe there is a nefarious OSU plot to keep the I35/Lindsay St interchange from ever being finished  :bigass:

Motorists can expect eastbound and westbound SH-51 (Sixth St.) lanes to shift to the south at US-177 (Perkins Rd.) in Stillwater early Wednesday morning through August as part of an ongoing reconstruction project. SH-51 remains narrowed to one lane in each direction between the Stillwater Central Railroad crossing and the US-177 (Perkins Rd.) intersection.

Additionally, northbound and southbound US-177 (Perkins Rd.) remains narrowed to one lane in each direction between Hall of Fame Ave. and 12th Ave. through August.

All lanes of SH-51 and US-177 are scheduled to open to traffic Aug. 30 in time for the first Oklahoma State University home football game. Intermittent lane closures at the intersection are expected to resume Sept. 4 while final details of the project are completed through fall 2017.

The $7.4 million contract was awarded in July 2016 to Duit Construction Co. Inc. and TTK Construction Co.
