Title: Chicago - Lake Shore Drive (US 41) south extension begins construction
Post by: mgk920 on April 21, 2012, 12:18:08 AM
Construction just started on a southward extension of Lake Shore Drive (US 41) in Chicago, extending it to the site of the former USX South Chicago steel works, now under redevelopment.

(Maybe there will soon be another attempt to finish North Lake Shore Drive in the city, too.)

Interesting.  I'd like to see a detailed map of this project.

I'd lke to see a detailed map as well. :D

Currently, LSD/US-41 ends at Marquette Drive and South Jeffrey Avenue

and it might connect to that gap of South Avenue

It would had been more cool if they connect it to the Skyway(I-90)

That (Skyway connection) might still come to fruition. Look at the map about halfway down the article that is over the 2nd video.

It has an angle SW toward the Skyway at S Harbor Ave.
