Sometimes you look back at a nondescript photo you took 16 years ago - do a little research and find out there's a pretty neat story behind it. Such is the case with The Yadkin Road in Pinehurst, NC.

One of the features I never got to putting together on the old gribblenation site was a series over vintage PA Turnpike Postcards sent to me from Bill Symons.  Bill was kind enough to resend them and I have add them to the blog in a four part series.  There are over 65 postcards in total.

Part 1: http://surewhynotnow.blogspot.com/2017/03/bill-symons-pa-turnpike-postcard.html
Part 2: http://surewhynotnow.blogspot.com/2017/03/bill-symons-pa-turnpike-postcard_9.html
Part 3: http://surewhynotnow.blogspot.com/2017/03/one-of-features-i-never-got-around-to.html
Part 4: http://surewhynotnow.blogspot.com/2017/03/bill-symons-pa-turnpike-postcard_11.html

Enjoy!

One of the more popular scenic drives and daytrips in Pennsylvania is the Lehigh Valley Covered Bridge Tour.  Covering seven bridges in two counties this nearly 50 mile tour is a popular attraction year round.  The tour is featured on our new spinoff blog site - Quintessential PA.

New feature on the North Carolina Transportation Museum. It's definitely worth the visit if you live nearby - and even if you don't!
