Title: Interstate Shield Glitches
Post by: adventurernumber1 on November 05, 2014, 09:55:08 AM
All day today, on many peoples' profiles, I've seen a Michigan I-94 Shield. Like, if you have a shield or whatever for your avatar, that shows up, but on many many profiles, there is an additional Michigan I-94 shield. Not a big deal, but I can't help but to crack up laughing at the randomness of this odd glitch. If you click "MEMBERS," you'll even see the I-94 Shield there.

IIRC there was another brief time this week where an additional Interstate shield (can't remember what number it was) was on many peoples' profiles. This is very odd indeed  :-D

EDIT: These are the glitches Im seeing:

On Internet Explorer, Firefox, as well as Safari on my iPhone 6, none of these glitches are happening to me. Try clearing your Internet cache or closing all your Safari tabs and seeing if that alleviates it.

I don't see I-94 shields, but I have noticed in the last week the ads now popping up all over the site when I am browsing the forums but not logged in....

The forums don't have ads.

They do now, when you are not logged in.

Gotta pay the bills somehow...  I noticed they're targeted to the text at hand too - I think I was reading the 'roads in need of resurfacing' thread and an ad popped up in the bottom post for a paving contractor.  Nice.

No idea why you were getting those, but that happens to be Brandon's avatar. So at least we know where the image is coming from...

That's hilarious! It looks like the email icon was being replaced with the I-94 shield for you! Why? beats me... :-D :-D :-D

Now it looks like some of the rank images are acting up:

This is probably my daily tummy tickler (these glitches are freaking hilarious and random)  :-D :-D

EDIT: Sorry for the freakishly large image; I'm on a computer at school in Video Production and when I copied the image it gave me no options to choose a size, but it's no biggie.

EDIT: Can be fixed.

That's hilarious. It looks normal on my PC, though, no strange smiley (just the "Freeway" sign).

I had a weird incident a week or two ago where if I viewed the forum on my new iPhone 6 using Safari instead of Tapatalk, all the "NEW" icons displayed as the Philadelphia Eagles' helmet logo. I have no idea why and it cleared up in a day or so, so I never mentioned it before.

I will now stop spamming this thread with hilarious glitches, but this one I cannot hesitate to share. All these glitches have started only a week ago, so it'll probably end soon. But, now, this is just hilarious  :-D

Looks like everything is messed up on Alex's stuff: https://m.flickr.com/#/photos/127322363@N08/15735810682/

The green/white online square is replaced with a Facebook icon, the creepy smiley is showing up here as well, and the "Freeway" image is in the completely wrong spot. Lord have mercy

None of that has happened to me. Maybe some caches need to be cleared or something.

I apologize for bumping this thread, but I have come to realize something. All of this stuff was happening on an old, unreliable phone of mine that was having all sorts of problems. I have gotten a new iPhone 7 this past Christmas, and ever since then, none of these hilarious glitches have been happening. This seems to support the general consensus among many people about how iPhones have something very wrong when it comes to their useful lifetime, and they can get messed up so much so quickly. But the thing is, when I started seeing these glitches in late 2014, my iPhone 5S wasn't that old. I had gotten it during the Christmas of 2013. For all I know, that might mean that roughly one year from now, this stuff might start happening again on my phone. I will keep my eyes open to find out. It seemed that when these glitches would happen, clearing caches wouldn't always work. Sometimes these glitches would happen at random, often in extreme excess. Well, it looks like I'm all good, for now at least. Worst-case scenario, if these glitches do start happening again in the distant future, they are unbelieveably funny.
