That is an awesome picture. Love the combination of the sign and the road being surrounded by those huge, old trees.

Now, since I'm in a lull until we reach 244, I'll add some of my own numeric backtracks from some of my more recent road trips–these three are from April 21:

Seems appropriate to start with a number from 100 numbers ago, with this picture of US-136 in Lancaster, MO

Northbound MO-202 at its southern terminus, going the opposite direction from the same intersection as US-136 in the above picture

Southbound MO-81 at the Missouri/Iowa state line

CA 236 is pretty cool, really its hard to believe that is still a maintained state highway north of Big Basin.  The north segment is almost all single lane north to CA 9 and it was kind of messy after all the winter storms this year:

I did all those Santa Cruz Range Highways this year after the rains stopped.  The mudslides meant that you had to take a really specific way to hit CA 9, 236, and 35 which meant that I pretty much had them all to myself which was a total blast.  I was debating this 236 pic with the one I posted, I couldn't not chose the pic with the single lane segment with redwood trees in it:

I thought this pic conveyed how nutty the one-lane segment of CA 236 really is along with how much debris was really on the ground:

That last one doesn't even look like it should be a state highway–really cool that it is, however. Great pictures!

Aside from the post markers and shields there is a substantially higher quality to the asphalt that gives it away as a state highway.  There is a surprisingly high number of single lane sections of California State Routes; 4, 35, 36, 146, 168, and 236 all have them.  I'm sure that I'm forgetting some really minor state high sections that are single lane as well.  The real gem is Ebbets Pass on CA 4, that road is so surreal given it is such a long one-lane segment with 24% grades.

I'll start with Hays County 236 near Buda, Texas...since it's an oddball white-bordered pentagon:

More catch-up pictures from April 21:

To correspond with MO-81, here's IA-81's northern terminus just west of Farmington.

And IA-202's northern end to go with MO-202.

MO-15 at the Iowa/Missouri state line.

Oh cool, back to my part of the state again for a moment.

GA 236 just past sunrise on a Sunday morning (with a bonus 42, a number I surprisingly didn't have when it first came around):

Coincidentally, GA 236 (which is an east-west route, despite what this sign says) happens to end at our next number, GA 237.
