NH1, are you going through the entire shield gallery and posting pictures?

I accept and respect your identity as long as it's not dumb shit like "identifying as a vaccinated attack helicopter".

I'm more concerned about that post's lack of relevance.  Those signs don't appear to be altered/repurposed in any way.  Just very very old.

It's a '48 spec shield pasted on a black square to meet the new '61 spec at the time.

that is awesome!  I know of no intact surviving Illinois state-outline shields, except for an IL-4 painted on the side of a bridge.

GONE. New bridge abutment, completely repainted as a replica.

'48 spec US 25E Tennessee:

Was in Cumberland Gap today and got new photos of this sign. It has just about faded away to nothingness. However, I found and photographed another old, wide US 25E sign that I had never noticed before.

This exit sign on I-95 in Prince William County looks like it's been used before.

Saw a bunch of NC 87 signs in the Sanford area that obviously had been reused. Will post pictures when I go through them at some unknown date in the future. Have a LOT of snaps to go through from this trip.

the one about half a mile down?  that probably dates back to the early 70s, just after the adoption of the wide shields by Tennessee.

It would be stupid not to reuse a temporary sign.

Gee, the backs of those blade signs sure look familiar: http://goo.gl/maps/ILhEc

As of yesterday (7/18/2013):

Break out your green-out!

If anyone has an image of it (couldn't find it on Google), on South I-55, there was an I-355 sign about 2 miles before the JCT that originally said West Suburbs, then Suburbs, and is now greened out

If you zoom in on this, you'll notice the "s" in "1st" is covered. It used to say "1St" (capital S). Just some stupid mistake?

3 times reused  :colorful: (notice LOT is a cover also)

There are plenty of parking signs.

I am pretty sure I've posted this one in a different thread before, but it fits here.  This is on Ballston Ave. in Ballston Spa, NY, a street often used to cut a corner when travelling NY 67.  This picture is from 2002, but this sign remains as of earlier this year.

Photos I post are my own unless otherwise noted.

Still standing as of April.

This is now gone, by the way. Even though it's at the City of Richmond/Henrico County line, the city maintains the next few feet of VA 197, so the replacement is an ugly Richmond trailblazer unisign. At least the county line sign isn't in Clearview. I'll get a picture of the ugly replacement later.
