I took a drive along US 59 to check out the progress on the new construction

  • Baldwin Junction (US 59-US 56) has been leveled. All of the buildings have been torn down to make way for the new interchange. Eventually, E1200/Current 59 will be relocated to the west to accomodate the interchange. The weigh station that was on the northwest corner of the intersection will be replaced with a new station on southbound 59 at the county line

  • The Girders are down for the new bridge across Woodson  Road/N1 at the Douglas/Franklin county line. The piers are also down for the Tauy Creek bridge just to the north of the Woodson Road bridge.

  • All grading and bridges in Franklin County are complete. I did not see any evidence of paving being placed attm.
Peace to you, and... don't drive like my brother.
