Oh, well I know the brand, and that looks newer and thats why I made that remark. That brand is also still made today. My mistake.

The Spaulding Turnpike in NH has toll booths with some ancient signals:

Hi folks...first post here, I hope you like these old signals I've found around the Cincinnati area.

First, a Crouse-Hinds type D in Lockland:

Second, another Crouse-Hinds type D in Norwood, with a newer friend:

Third (and this is where it really starts to get interesting), on the right is another Crouse-Hinds type D in Norwood, but what's that on the left?

Closer inspection reveals it to be an original Crouse-Hinds type T, circa 1922-1928.  It has most of its original lettered lenses.  It looks like a Darley at first, but in some other close-ups I took I can see Crouse-Hinds written along the bottom of each of the "porthole" flanges.  I can't believe this thing is still kicking!

I have a few other angles at my website which deals mostly with streetcars and railroads, but has some a little bit of road related stuff too.  http://homepage.mac.com/jjakucyk/Transit1/lights/

Another one bites the dust...

There's an older crosswalk signal anchored in the gas-station-turned-bar.

NOTE:  The links may show the exact intersection mentioned below, but the street view may take you to a whole different intersection...workin out the bugs...

• You might have to play with the street view controls, but these lights were "Refurbished" in the last decade to include original glass "STOP" and "GO" Lenses..This is the intersection of W. 210th & Westwood, in Fairview Park (Cleveland), OHhttp://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=21000+Westwood,+fairview+park,+OH&sll=41.44916,-81.85294&sspn=0.001986,0.003283&ie=UTF8&ll=41.44879,-81.852973&spn=0.007945,0.013132&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A&layer=c&cbll=41.449186,-81.852965&panoid=0YxkPyEcjfNMqy0Vt4It6w&cbp=12,36.16,,0,5
•  Again, Playing with the street view controls, you have not only some great OLD traffic lights, but check out the crosswalk lights here as well...This one at the intersection of Stumph/Chevrolet Road & Snow Road in Parma, OH
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Parma,+OH&sll=41.457426,-81.852817&sspn=0.000993,0.001642&ie=UTF8&ll=41.40502,-81.768687&spn=0.001988,0.003283&t=h&z=18&layer=c&cbll=41.405019,-81.768803&panoid=3QktIumqcXBdiGqqUWZ8EA&cbp=12,275.99,,0,5

•  A few blocks north on Chevy Blvd...

•  The intersection of Chevy & Brookpark Road, still in Parma...

•  The intersection of Snow Road and Pearl Road (US 42), Parma...
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Parma,+OH&sll=41.457426,-81.852817&sspn=0.000993,0.001642&ie=UTF8&ll=41.404658,-81.744418&spn=0.007951,0.013132&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=41.404776,-81.744256&panoid=q5QzuVZQO7DvSMBaewmb8g&cbp=12,56.72,,0,4.12

•  And finally, for at least this post, The intersection of Ridge Road (SR-3) and Snow Road...Look closely on the corners...The orange barrels are posing as the grim reapers as this intersection is getting ready to upgrade to the LED plastic mast-mounted signals.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Parma,+OH&sll=41.457426,-81.852817&sspn=0.000993,0.001642&ie=UTF8&t=h&layer=c&cbll=41.40504,-81.734549&panoid=HgtN_S1rlaMNssHlOtJ7Vw&cbp=12,189.14,,0,5&ll=41.405127,-81.734548&spn=0.000994,0.001642&z=19

A few years ago I noticed that New Haven, CT is littered with what appear to be a mix of old Eagle and Crouse-Hinds 4-ways that have been retrofitted with LED signal heads.

More here at: http://www.wytout.com/newhavensignals/index.html

I haven't been in New Haven for years, but I'm going to assume that if the city went through the trouble of upgrading the signal heads to LED they are still installed throughout the city.

This one has been retrofitted with LED's also. It's tha last remaining 4 Way in Fayetteville, AR

Used to be some really old post mounted 4 Ways in downtown Chicago, but I don't know if they are still there.

I really don't like seeing old vintage 4-way signals get retrofitted with LED's. It totally ruins the value. Here is a nice old vintage Signal Service Corp. (SSC) signal that has LED's in downtown Cohoes:
