NM/CO 17 is one of my favorite drives, it was neat to see it in the winter.  I went through there in the fall of 2007.  I'd also recommend NM 4 as a great drive.

NM-4 is indeed excellent.  I drove it once in 2006, and really need to do it again to get better photos.
