I just saw this time-lapse video of (segments of) a coast-to-coast-and-back road trip across the USA. Very cool. And from a British newspaper of all places:

Wish I had that kind of record from some of my trips.  I've been accused many times of taking too many pictures of nothing, but never every 5 seconds across long stretches of rural highways.  It really gives some sense of scale.
