CBS Los Angeles: Potholes Push Holmby Hills Residents To Back 90210 Annexation

Quote
Is the lack of smooth surface roads enough reason for one upscale Southland neighborhood to join itself to the most famous zip code in the world?

Quote
Residents of Holmby Hills have grown so frustrated with their potholed streets that some are endorsing a proposal to enter into a tax-sharing agreement with the city of Beverly Hills in what could pave the way for annexation.

Beverly Hills annexing Holmby Hills is easier than for Holmby Hills to suceed from Los Angeles. Look at the Valley and Hollywood trying to suceed back in 2002. What makes it hard is that the entire city has to vote on it as well as the territory that wants to suceed.

Good luck having all those well off people wanting to actually give the city of Los Angeles the money to leave, and I doubt LA would let that any part of it go without a battle.
In no way shape or form was the valley splitting from LA ever going to be a good thing for LA. Holmby Hills is way smaller but it still would leave a small ding on LA.

If Holmby Hills doesn't leave Los Angeles it'll just stay the same for them. It wont get better or worse. Same with the valley, leaving could have helped, there was a fight for the valley to leave, the valley stayed. Nothing changed in the valley. Although the valley splitting was more than just potholes. It was everything. Its apples and oranges here

Not to hijack the thread, bulkyorled, but I've noticed you now list Burbank instead of Tujunga as your location. Did you move?
