Interstate 5 Southbound: Washington & Clackamas Counties

Exit 293 leaves Interstate 5 south at the Atlanta Street overpass. Atlanta Street becomes Haines Street within the Far Southwest neighborhood of Portland to the east. 68th Avenue travels southward from Atlanta Street to commercial areas along side the freeway. Oregon 217, a 7.52-mile freeway from Interstate 5 north to U.S. 26 (Sunset Highway) at Beaverton, merges onto Interstate 5 south via a partial "Y" interchange at Kruse Way. Southbound Interstate 5 at Exit 289 to Nyberg Road (old Oregon 212). Interstate 205 replaced the need for Oregon 212 east from Tualatin to Oregon City. The state route followed Nyberg Road east, SW 56th Avenue south, and SW Borland Road east before Interstate 205 was built.
