Nearing the city of Bonifay at Exit 112 (Florida 79) along Interstate 10 east. Florida 79 (Waukesha Street) meets U.S. 90 1.75 miles north of Exit 112 at downtown Bonifay. The state highway migrates 16 miles north from Bonifay to Esto near the state line, becoming Alabama 167 in Geneva County, Alabama. Florida 79 constitutes one of three preferred routes to the Panama City Beach resort area from Interstate 10. The state road angles southwest from Vernon to Ebro and Bay County. A four-laning project is complete as of July 2011 from State Road 20 south to U.S. 98, benefiting tourist traffic and travelers headed to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP).
