Interstate 10 Eastbound (Jefferson & Madison Counties)

Interstate 10 eastbound at the ramp departure for Exit 217 (Florida 59). Florida 59 travels 24 miles south to its southern terminus with U.S. 98. The state highway meets U.S. 27, 5.7 miles to the south and Wacissa four miles beyond there. U.S. 90 lies 2.5 miles to the north in eastern Leon County. Photo taken 07/13/12.

Known as the Florida-Georgia Parkway, U.S. 19 comprises a four-lane divided highway from Thomasville, Georgia southward to Monticello and junction U.S. 27 at Capps. U.S. 19 is part of a longer divided highway corridor between Albany, Georgia and Clearwater. Photo taken 06/11/06.
A diamond interchange facilitates the movements between Interstate 10 and U.S. 19 (Florida-Georgia Parkway) at Exit 225. U.S. 19 meets U.S. 90 in downtown Monticello, three miles to the north. Florida 14 west and Madison County 14 come together at Exit 251. State Road 14 travels 3.903 miles northeast to end at downtown Madison. County Road 14 continues the road southwest 15.617 miles to U.S. 221 at Shady Grove. Photo taken 07/22/04.
Florida 14, in conjunction with Florida 145, provides a more direct route to Valdosta, Georgia in lieu of Interstate 75. The state highway is also signed as a back route to Perry for Interstate 10 westbound travelers in conjunction with U.S. 221 south of Shady Grove. Photo taken 12/03/10.

Exit 258 is signed for just Madison on Interstate 10 eastbound. Florida 53 leaves the county seat and meets Interstate 10 six miles southeast of U.S. 90 and Florida 14. County Road 53 continues the drive southward 16 miles to Day and 20 miles to junction U.S. 27. Photo taken 12/03/10.

The last Madison County interchange serves Madison County 255, 2.75 miles south of Lee. The north-south county road stretches 10.885 miles from Lee to County Road 53. Photo taken 12/03/10.

Like the state of California, the state of Florida utilizes agricultural inspection stations along its Interstate highways. The second eastbound station in Florida resides along Interstate 10 in eastern Madison County. All commercial trucks, rented trucks, and other delivery vehicles must enter the facility.
