The first of 13 interchanges for the capital city of Columbia, Exit 76A connects with I-77 south to the city of Forest Acres and multiple gates into Fort Jackson. 09/20/21

Exit 72 leaves I-20 west for S.C. 555 (Farrow Road). A 14.90 mile long route, S.C. 555 originates at the intersection of Harden Street and S.C. 12 (Taylor Street) at Waverly in Columbia and ends at U.S. 21, south of Blythewood. 09/20/21
U.S. 21 (Wilson Boulevard) angles southwest from Blythewood and I-77 at Exit 24 to follow N Main Street south from forthcoming Exit 71 into the city of Columbia. 09/20/21
Interstate 20 maintains six overall lanes across the north side of Columbia with a 60 mile per hour speed limit. The confirming marker west of S.C. 555 was knocked down by January 2016. 12/20/13
The Carolina Crossroads interchange with Interstate 26 is 7.2 miles ahead along I-20 west. Augusta, Georgia is an hour beyond there. 09/20/21
A parclo B2 interchange joins I-20 with U.S. 21 at Exit 71. U.S. 21 (N Main Street) south combines with U.S. 321 at Columbia College and U.S. 176 at the Earlewood community. The three routes circumvent Downtown via Elmwood Avenue west and Huger Street south. 09/20/21
Curving southward, Interstate 20 advances to the parclo B2 interchange (Exit 70) with U.S. 321 (Fairfield Road) at Exit 70. 09/20/21
U.S. 321 constitutes a 517 mile long, L-shaped route between U.S. 17 at Hardeeville, South Carolina and Interstate 40 near Lenior City, Tennessee. Locally the route follows Fairfield Road south to the overlap with U.S. 21/176 through Columbia, West Columbia and Cayce. 09/20/21
North from Exit 70, U.S. 321 travels 22 miles to the Fairfield County seat of Winnsboro. 09/20/21

Exit 68 leaves I-20 west to overtake parallel Windhill Drive ahead of S.C. 215 (Monticello Road). S.C. 215 branches northwest from U.S. 21/321 near the Eau Claire community in Columbia and continues 21 miles from I-20 to Jenkinsville. 09/20/21
Progressing west to the Broad River, Interstate 20 lines the bluffs south of Crane Creek. The exchange with I-26 lies three miles ahead. 09/20/21
Built in 1965 and reconstructed in 1991,1 a nondescript bridge carries Interstate 20 across the Broad River. The freeway enters a swath of Columbia city limits at the crossing. 09/20/21
Flowing 150 miles south from Black Mountain in North Carolina, the Broad River is a tributary of the Congaree River. The mouth lies opposite the Saluda River, where the Congaree River commences southeast from Columbia to Lake Marion. 12/20/13
U.S. 176 turns west from U.S. 21/321 (N Main Street) and the Earlewood community to span the Broad River via River Drive. A diamond interchange (Exit 65) joins U.S. 176 with I-20, a mile east of Interstate 26. 09/20/21

The cloverleaf interchange (Exits 64B/A) with Interstate 26 follows at the unincorporated community of St. Andrews. This sign was knocked down in 2018 and subsequently replaced. 09/20/21
Exit 64B joins commuters with I-26 west for Irmo and the outer suburbs to White Rock. Interstate 26 continues northwest to Newberry, Clinton and Spartanburg in the Upstate. 09/20/21
Exit 64B joins I-26 west ahead of St. Andrews Road along a heavily traveled stretch of freeway to U.S. 76/176 at Irmo. Overall I-26 west joins Cola with Greenville (via I-385), Spartanburg, Asheville, North Carolina and the Tri-Cities in Tennessee. 09/20/21
Weaving traffic patterns at the cloverleaf joining I-20/26 and the close proximity of the I-26/126 split to the south, led to the nickname of Malfunction Junction. Phase 3 of the Carolina Crossroads project from late 2023 to Fall 2028 builds a turbine interchange at I-20/26. 09/20/21

U.S. 378, a 234 mile long highway stretching west from Conway to Washington, Georgia, converges with Interstate 20 at a six-ramp parclo interchange (Exit 61) in one mile. 09/20/21
Exit 61 is the first of three interchanges along Interstate 20 serving both the city of Lexington and Lake Murray Dam (via S.C. 6 north). U.S. 378 joins Lexington with West Columbia along Sunset Boulevard. 09/20/21

Stretching 116 miles southeast from Ballentine, near Lake Murray, to Moncks Corner in the Lowcountry, S.C. 6 (S Lake Drive) advances from Downtown Lexington to meet Interstate 20 on the south side of the city. 09/20/21
Exit 55B departs I-20 for S.C. 6 (S Lake Drive) north into Lexington. S.C. 6 straddles the eastern shore of Lake Murray by Lake Murray Dam to S.C. 60 near Irmo. 09/20/21
A loop ramp was added for I-20 west onto S.C. 6 south at Exit 55A. S.C. 6 continues through nearby Red Bank to Edmond and an overlap with S.C. 302. S.C. 302 leads to the town of Pelion while S.C. 6 turns eastward to the town of Swansea. 12/31/12
