WIS 81 ties into the beginning of Interstate 43 ahead at the exchange with I-39/90. I-39/90 travel in tandem south to Rockford, Illinois, before splitting to Chicago (I-90) and Bloomington (I-39). 05/06/10

A wye interchange (Left Exit 59) joins I-43 north with Layton Avenue eastbound. Layton Avenue extends across lower Greenfield and Milwaukee to WIS 32 (S Lake Drive) opposite Sheridan Park. 05/09/10
I-43 travels under S 116th Street 1.25 miles out from the Hale Interchange with I-41-894/U.S. 41-45 and U.S.41/45. I-41 was added to the Wisconsin Interstate system by mid-2015 and overlays U.S. 41 between Green Bay and Illinois.
This guide sign was replaced to include I-41 along the Airport and Zoo Freeways by August 2015. 05/09/10
I-894 follows a 9.92 mile loop from I-94 near Wilson Park west and north to I-94 near the Milwaukee County Zoo along the Airport and Zoo Freeways, tying into I-43 at the Hale Interchange. U.S. 45 joins I-41/894 north along the Zoo Freeway while I-43 proceeds along the Airport Freeway with I-41/894 east. 05/09/10
Motorists depart left for I-41/894 to the Zoo Freeway as a single lane ramp shuttles I-43 traffic from the Rock Freeway to the Airport Freeway. I-43 continues along the Airport Freeway to its merge with I-94 north to Downtown Milwaukee.
