Interstate 75
A high level bridge carries Interstate 75 & U.S. 25-421 over the Kentucky River near the community of Clay's Ferry. Three sets of supports are visible: the middle set was built in 1946 as part of U.S. 25. When Interstate 75 was built in 1963, the bridge was widened and the second set of supports were added. The third set (middle) joined in 1998 when Interstate 75 was widened to six lanes across the river.1 Photo taken by Carter Buchanan (10/30/04).
