Spanning the St. Johns River, work on the Fuller Warren Bridge started on August 5, 1996. The concrete girder bridge cost $100 million, opening initially southbound on April 16, 2000. Work on the northbound span continued until it fully opened to traffic on November 17, 2002,1,2 The 75 foot high span replaced a bascule bridge originally constructed by the city of Jacksonville in 1954. The previous span was tolled until 1988.3

Interstate 95 South
Traffic from I-10 east merges onto I-95 south as the freeway shifts onto a viaduct spanning College Street. College Street was made discontinuous between Roselle and Forest Streets in Brooklyn during the 2005-11 Big I construction project. 11/06/19
Costing $126 million, the I-10/I-95 Interchange Improvements project added a lane for each direction of Interstate 95 and a shared use path along the Fuller Warren Bridge southbound. Construction through Summer 2020 Spring 2021 Fall 2022 started on May 5, 2017.1 03/26/20
A half diamond interchange (Exit 350 B) connects the east end of the Fuller Warren Bridge with San Marcos Boulevard via Gary Street. Palm Avenue and San Marcos Boulevard link I-95 with Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and the Southside and San Marco neighborhoods. 03/03/13

Exit 350B leaves Interstate 95 southbound for Gary Street east to San Marco Boulevard. Nearby entrance ramps from South Side lead motorists to both the Acosta Bridge (SR 13) and Main Street Bridge (U.S. 1/90) north to Downtown. 03/03/13
A collector distributor roadway (Exit 350 A) separates from Interstate 95 south in a half mile to both U.S. 1 south along Philips Highway and U.S. 90 east along Atlantic Boulevard. 03/26/20
A cable-stayed pedestrian bridge links the adjacent Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and Nemours Children's Specialty Care center across the east end of the Fuller Warren Bridge. 03/26/20
The $158 million Overland Bridge Replacement Project, a 2.3 mile long reconstruction of I-95, including the Overland Bridge viaduct, commenced on January 14, 2013.4 03/26/20
Ramps from the Acosta Expressway and Main Street southbound converge under I-95 and ahead of SR 13 (Hendricks Avenue) and SR 5 (Kings Avenue). U.S. 1 south / U.S. 90 east merge onto the Overland Bridge c/d roadway (Exit 350 A). 03/26/20
U.S. 90 leaves U.S. 1 and the c/d roadway along Interstate 95 south at a wye interchange with Atlantic Boulevard east next. 10/16/22
Both leading toward Atlantic Beach, U.S. 90 Alternate and SR 10 separate from U.S. 90 (Atlantic Boulevard) one mile east of I-95/U.S. 1 at the St. Nicholas community. U.S. 90 continues eastward along Beach Boulevard to Jacksonville Beach. Neptune Beach lies between the two beach cities along SR A1A. 10/16/22
In addition to expanding I-95 with c/d roadways in both directions, the Overland Bridge Replacement Project added a new southbound lane and redesigned the ramps to adjacent Kings Avenue (SR 5 north / U.S. 1 south). 03/26/20
U.S. 1 south splits with I-95 south along parallel Phillips Highway (SR 5) through the San Marco, Spring Park and Englewood neighborhoods. Interstate 95 stays to the east through the Englewood, South Point and Baymeadows neighborhoods. 11/06/19
The Isaiah D. Hart Bridge appears above the tree line east from Interstate 95 on the Overland Bridge. The continuous steel through truss bridge takes U.S. 1 ALT across the St. Johns River between Empire Point and Midtown Jacksonville. 10/16/22
Continuing southeast from the separation with U.S. 1/90, Interstate 95 advances one mile to U.S. 1 Alternate (Emerson Street). 03/26/20
U.S. 1 Alternate (Emerson Street) weaves eastward between the Spring Park and Englewood communities to an interchange with U.S. 90 (Beach Boulevard) along the short Emerson Expressway. 03/26/20
One half mile north of the parclo interchange (Exit 347) with U.S. 1 Alternate (Emerson Street). 11/06/19
U.S. 1 Alternate follows the Hart Bridge Expressway (SR 228) across the St. Johns River to Midtown. 11/06/19
West from Exit 347 and U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway), Emerson Street (SR 126) extends to SR 13 (San Jose Boulevard) at the Miramar community. 03/26/20
Heading south through Englewood, the succeeding exit joins I-95 with SR 109 (University Boulevard) in one mile. SR 109 arcs northeast along University Boulevard from SR 13 at Lakewood to SR 115 (Arlington Expressway) at Clifton. 11/06/19
Bowden Road leads east from U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway), just south of SR 109 (University Boulevard), to the Greenfield Manor and Tiger Hole / Secret Woods residential areas. 11/06/19
A pedestrian bridge spans the freeway at Connors Street, a half mile north of Exit 346 to SR 109 (University Boulevard). 11/06/19
Southbound Interstate 95 reaches Exit 346 B for SR 109 (University Boulevard) west to U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway), Pine Forest, San Jose and Lakewood. 11/06/19
Exit 346 A loops onto University Boulevard east to the San Souci and Spring Glen neighborhoods. Spring Park Road links SR 109 with aforementioned Bowden Road. 11/06/19
A half diamond interchange adds traffic from Bowden Road onto I-95 south. The freeway progresses through South Point to Exit 344 with SR 202 (J. Turner Boulevard). 11/06/19
SR 202 originates just west of Interstate 95 at U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway). East from Exit 344, J. Turner Boulevard (JTB) constitutes a limited access freeway to SR A1A at Jacksonville Beach. 11/06/19
JTB east to Interstate 295 north leads motorists to both the University of North Florida (UNF) and Florida State College's South campus. 11/06/19
SR 202 (Butler Boulevard) travels 13.04 miles east across South Side Jacksonville to SR A1A. The freeway was finished in March 1997 with the $4.7 million completion of the trumpet interchange with SR A1A.6 11/06/19
James Turner Butler served as a Florida House member and president of the Florida Senate to 1941. His legislative efforts aided in the creation of the Jacksonville Port Authority and wrote bills establishing the Acosta and Main Street Bridges as well as the Jacksonville Expressway system. He was also instrumental with the government merger between Duval County and Jacksonville city in 1968.7 11/06/19
$78 million in road work started in 2015, upgraded the six-ramp parclo interchange (Exit 344) with SR 202 / JTB. Construction added a flyover from I-95 south to JTB east, a new overpass for SR 202 west to I-95 north and westbound access from I-95 north at a signalized intersection.5 The high speed flyover at Exit 344 opened to traffic on September 7, 2017. 11/06/19
Continuing southeast between Deerwood Center and Baymeadows, Interstate 95 next meets SR 152 (Baymeadows Road). 11/06/19
Wooded areas at Pottsburg Creek Swamp precede the diamond interchange (Exit 341) with SR 152 (Baymeadows Road). 11/06/19
Prior to an eastward extension to I-295 (East Beltway), SR 152 (Baymeadows Road) ran 3.9 miles between SR 13 (San Jose Boulevard) and SR 115 (Southside Boulevard). 11/06/19
Exit 341 leaves I-95 south with two lanes for SR 152 (Baymeadows Road). 11/06/19
State Road 152 follows Baymeadows Road west between the Briarwood and Craven neighborhoods to SR 13 (San Jose Boulevard) and east to Deerwood and Interstate 295 (East Beltway). 11/06/19
Three exits span Interstate 95 south over the succeeding five miles as the freeway passes through the Mandarin Station and Greenland neighborhoods en route to St. Johns County. 11/06/19
U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway) parallels the FEC Railway and crosses I-95 at a folded diamond interchange (Exit 339) in one mile. 11/06/19
A wye interchange provides direct access from SR 115 (Southside Boulevard) southbound onto I-95 south ahead of Exit 339. SR 115 runs just east of I-95 to The Avenues Mall and U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway). 11/06/19
The entrance ramp from Southside Boulevard expands Interstate 95 southbound to four lanes. Exit 339 departs in a half mile for U.S. 1 at Baymeadows Center and Avenues. 11/06/19
U.S. 1 shifts eastward across I-95 at Exit 339, remaining alongside the FEC Railway en route to Deercreek and Ponte Vedra in St. Johns County. I-95 and U.S. 1 both meet Interstate 295 within the next mile and a half. 11/06/19
I-95 southbound arrives at Exit 339 and U.S. 1 (Phillips Highway). U.S. 1 converges with I-95 again south of St. Augustine at Exit 298. 11/06/19
A $107 million project rebuilt what was a three-wye interchange (Exit 337) at I-295 with new ramps for the East Beltway from November 2001 to 2005. The last of the ramps to the newly completed East Beltway through Southside opened to traffic by mid August 2005.8 11/06/19
Lowering from the bridge across the FEC Railway, I-95 advances a half mile south to Exit 337 for the Jacksonville Beltway. A $1.3 million project between December 2011 and Summer 2013 altered or replaced approximately 350 signs, reflecting the upgrade of the East Beltway from SR 9A to I-295.9 11/06/19
The East Beltway circumvents central Jacksonville, providing a bypass of Downtown while serving travelers headed to Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach via connections with SR 202 (JTB), U.S. 90 (Beach Boulevard), and SR 10 (Atlantic Boulevard). 11/06/19
Two lanes separate from the I-95 mainline for Interstate 295 (Jacksonville Beltway). Built between 1968-77, the West Beltway represents the original portion of I-295. A heavily traveled commuter route, I-295 travels west through Mandarin to the Buckman Bridge over the St. Johns River. 11/06/19
The 25.53 mile long eastern beltway heads north from Greenland and Southside to Regency, Arlington and North Jacksonville. I-295 spans the St. Johns River across the N.B. Broward (Dames Point) Bridge along the course back to Interstate 95 at Northside Jacksonville. 11/06/19
Exit 337 separates with a single lane flyover for the East Beltway and two lanes for the West Beltway to Orange Park in Clay County. 11/06/19
An auxiliary lane opens along Interstate 95 south from I-295 alongside Palmetto Leaves Regional Park to Exit 335 for Old St. Augustine Road. 09/25/22
Confirming shield posted for Interstate 95 south. The Greenland Chase residential development lines the east side of the freeway while the west is preserved as part of the park east of Julington Creek. 09/25/22
I-95 angles southeast across wetlands associated with Big Davis Creek ahead of Exit 335 for Old St. Augustine Road. The forthcoming exchange was constructed from December 2002 to August 15, 2004. The $22 million project was financed by Flagler Development to provide direct access to the 966 acre Flagler Center business park to the east.10 09/25/22
Travelers headed south from Jacksonville reach St. Augustine in 19 miles and Daytona Beach in 80 miles. FDOT District 2 uses Daytona Beach for the southbound control point of I-95, while District 5 shifts the destination to Miami. 09/25/22

Bartram Park Boulevard winds along the west side of Interstate 95 over the ensuing two miles as travelers pass by another distance sign listing St. Augustine (18 miles) and Daytona Beach (79 miles). 06/16/16
Exit 333 opened to traffic on June 13, 2016, connecting Interstate 95 with SR 9B leading back north to Bayard and the east side of Jacksonville. 06/16/16
SR 9B stretches 5.1 miles north to Interstate 295 by Deercreek as a commuter route. Phase 3 construction of SR 9B extended the freeway 2.3 miles south to County Road 2209 (St. Johns Parkway) at the St. Johns community. 06/16/16
The second rest area for I-95 south in Florida lies two miles ahead in St. Johns County. 06/16/16
A distributor roadway separates from I-95 south for SR 9B north to U.S. 1 and the East Beltway (I-295) and SR 9B south to Peyton Parkway and CR 2209 (St. Johns Parkway). Phase 3 of SR 9B was completed on August 11, 2018. 06/16/16
The directional cloverleaf interchange (Exit 333) with SR 9B lies just north of the St. Johns County line. 09/25/22
