Florida 4

A rural route straddling the northern tiers of Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa Counties in Northwest Florida. The highway begins at U.S. 29 in Century and sinks southeastward to Jay, Berrydale, Munson and Blackwater River State Forest, Baker and an end at U.S. 90 at Milligan. A section of County Road 4 exists between Davisville (SR 97) and Century (U.S. 29) in Escambia as well.
A new viaduct was constructed for Florida 4 over the Escambia River and its associated wetlands by 1996. This sweeping roadway replaced a vastly substandard span with wide travel lanes and full shoulders. While realigned to the south, a portion of the original state road alignment was retained for a boat ramp.
