Virginia 262

Completed in 2006, Virginia 262 constitutes a loop around the city of Staunton. The southern and western portions consist of a freeway, while the northern arc exists as an expressway. Virginia 262 replaced Virginia 275 between U.S. 250 and Interstate 81.

Virginia Secondary 613 (Old Greenville Road) heads north to junction U.S. 11 (Greenville Avenue) at the south end of Virginia 261 (Statler Boulevard) and south to Folly Mills. The state route represents the original alignment of U.S. 11. Photo taken 07/16/05.

Virginia 262 south
Merging onto the Virginia 262 freeway as it began from Middlebrook Avenue in 2005. The freeway was fully opened to traffic by August 10, 2006, when the section between Virginia 252 and U.S. 250 was completed. Photo taken 07/16/05.

Virginia 262 meets Virginia Secondary 613 via a folded-diamond interchange. Virginia Secondary 613 travels southwest to Folly Mills and northeast to U.S. 11 (Greenville Avenue) at Virginia 261 (Statler Boulevard).
