Florida State Road 297 connects U.S. 90 Alternate (Nine Mile Road) with U.S. 90 (Mobile Highway) through unincorporated areas northwest of Pensacola. The state road in conjunction with SR 173 (Blue Angel Parkway) acts as a western belt-line highway for the metropolitan area. An interchange with Interstate 10 funnels traffic southward along SR 297 to Perdido Key and the Pensacola Naval Air Station via Blue Angel Parkway and SR 292. The northern terminus transitions SR 297 into Escambia County Road 297 (Pine Forest Road), a 3.37 mile loop to U.S. 29 near Gonzalez.

SR 297 (Pine Forest Road) north at the southbound beginning of SR 173 (Blue Angel Parkway) and Longleaf Drive east. SR 173 heads west 0.6 miles to U.S. 90 (Mobile Highway) before turning southward to Myrtle Grove and the west gate of Pensacola NAS along an 11.93 mile course. 05/14/02
