The New Jersey Turnpike continues south from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension (Exit 6) to Interstate 295 & U.S. 40 as unsigned State Route 700. Interstate 295 closely parallels the toll road to the west through the Camden and east Philadelphia suburbs.

Burlington County 541 (Burlington-Mt. Holly Road) intersects the New Jersey Turnpike at the Exit 5 interchange near the Burlington County seat of Mount Holly. The county route travels north five miles from Route 38 through Mount Holly to the turnpike at Deacons. 06/30/05
The New Jersey Turnpike travels south seven miles from the Pennsylvania Turnpike Extension to Burlington County 541 (Exit 5). Burlington County 541 travels north from Exit 5 two miles to Interstate 295, and five miles to Burlington and U.S. 130. The Burlington-Bristol Bridge (PA 413) ties into U.S. 130 just west of Burlington. 06/30/05

Route 73 meets the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 4 near Ramblewood. The state route constitutes a major surface-arterial from Voorhees northward to the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge across the Delaware River. Connections with nearby Route 38 (Kaighn Avenue) provide a direct route into downtown Camden, home of the New Jersey State Aquarium. 06/30/05
One mile north of the Exit 4 trumpet interchange with Route 73 on the New Jersey Turnpike southbound. Route 73 travels a divided highway northward from the Atlantic City Expressway near Hammonton to the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge. The state route transitions into PA 73 across the Delaware River into the Tacony section of Philadelphia. 06/30/05
The New Jersey Turnpike reduces from six to four lanes at the Exit 4 interchange with Route 73. Route 73 sees interchanges with Interstate 295, Route 38 (Kaighn Avenue), and Route 41 (Kings Highway) near the Moorestown Mall. The state route splits with the Route 90 freeway ahead of its junction with U.S. 130 near Palmyra. Route 90 ventures west to U.S. 130 and the Betsy Ross Bridge into Philadelphia. 06/30/05
South of the turnpike and Exit 4, Route 73 intersects Route 70, a major east-west arterial, in three miles at Marlton. Cherry Hill lies west of Exit 5 via Route 38 and 70. 06/30/05
The second to last service plaza along the New Jersey Turnpike south resides between the Kresson Road and the Berlin Road over crossings. in Cherry Hill township The four lane toll road takes on a rural feel despite its path through the suburbs of Cherry Hill between Exits 4 and 3. Interstate 295 parallels the highway to the immediate west along this stretch. 06/30/05

The New Jersey Turnpike turns westward through the borough of Lawnside on the approach to Exit 3. Intersecting the toll road ahead is Route 168 (Black Horse Pike), a heavily traveled north-south route between U.S. 130 and Route 42 (North-South Freeway). The Black Horse Pike serves the Camden-Philadelphia suburbs of Mt. Ephraim, Bellmawr, Runnemede and Glendora within three miles of the turnpike. 06/30/05
Shreve Avenue passes over the New Jersey Turnpike at Barrington one mile east of the Exit 3 trumpet interchange with Route 168 (Black Horse Pike). Route 168, in conjunction with Interstate 295, provides the connection between the toll road and both Interstate 76 west and Route 42 (North-South Freeway) south. The North-South Freeway passes over the New Jersey Turnpike en route to Turnersville, the Blackhorse Pike, and the Atlantic City Expressway. 06/30/05
Exit 3 departs the New Jersey Turnpike southbound for Route 168 (Blackhorse Pike) at Runnemede. Blackhorse Pike leads north to I-295 at Mount Ephraim, Audubon Park, Interstate 76C west to the Walt Whitman Bridge and Camden. Interstate 295 leads west from Interstate 76 and Route 42 to the Gloucester County seat of Woodbury. Route 42, the North-South Freeway, extends south from Interstates 76 & 295 to Turnersville, the Blackhorse Pike, and the Atlantic City Expressway. 06/30/05
Southbound at the Wolfert Station Road overpass and two mile guide sign for Exit 2 (U.S. 322). U.S. 322 crosses the Delaware River via the tolled Commodore Barry Bridge from Bridgeport, New Jersey to Chester, Pennsylvania. 06/30/05
Continuing southward toward the Tomlin Station Road over crossing on the New Jersey Turnpike. U.S. 322 follows Swedesboro Road east from Tomlin Station Road to Mulica Hill and Route 45 (Main Street). East from there, U.S. 322 travels five miles to the Route 55 freeway at Richwood, and seven miles to Glassboro. 06/30/05

U.S. 322 curves northward five miles to meet Interstate 295 and six miles to U.S. 130 ahead of the Commodore Barry Bridge. The tolled cantilever span replaced a ferry crossing between Bridgeport and Chester in 1976. 06/30/05
Five miles ahead of the Clara Barton Service Plaza along the New Jersey Turnpike south. The next service plaza for southbound travelers is the Delaware House along Interstate 95 (Delaware Turnpike) near Newark, Delaware. 06/30/05
A large toll plaza lies at the end of the New Jersey Turnpike near Deepwater. The turnpike gateway represents Exit 1 of the 122 mile long toll road. Travelers carrying an EZ-Pass toll transponder are provided high speed lanes toward the left while cash paying drivers must move to the right for the toll booths. Beyond the plaza is the parclo interchange with Route 140 (Hawks Bridge Road) & U.S. 40 (Wiley Road) east. U.S. 40 overtakes the freeway ahead of its merge with Interstate 295. 06/30/05
