U.S. 411 angles northeast from U.S. 78 in Leeds to Ashville, Rainbow City, Gadsden and Leesburg. East across Weiss Lake, U.S. 411 concludes an 86.8 mile route through Alabama east of Centre and west of Cave Spring, Georgia.
The 4.55 mile long Centre bypass was completed in 1990. U.S. 411 shifted away from the city center to the north, with Main Street redesignated as U.S. 411 Business, per approval by the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) on June 2, 1990.
