U.S. 522 travels just 19 miles through Morgan County in the panhandle of West Virginia. The highway joins I-68 and I-70 at Hancock, Maryland with Berkeley Springs to the north while leading south to Frederick County and Winchester, Virginia.

U.S. 522 North

U.S. 522 (Hancock Road) approaches the town of Bath (Berkeley Springs) from south of Jimstown Road. A former alignment of the route exists just to the west on Warm Spring Ridge. U.S. 522 followed Wilkes Street to Fairfax Street originally. 06/08/12

Overall Route 9 is a 74 mile highway. Traveling between MD 51 at Paw Paw and Virginia State Route 9 near Keyes Gap across Blue Ridge, the state route joins the three Panhandle Counties while also serving Martinsburg, the largest city. 06/08/12
