Greene Street (former U.S. 220) ends one block east of Johnson Street at Water Street. Motorists bound for West Virginia 28 Alternate (Bridge Street) should turn south onto Water Street to cross the Potomac River. Water Street northbound intersects Baltimore, Cumberland, and Washington Streets one block to the north. Former U.S. 220 turns east onto Baltimore Street into downtown Cumberland from there.
