The next westbound exit joins Interstate 68 & U.S. 40 with U.S. 219 southbound (Salisbury Road). U.S. 219 merges onto the National Freeway westbound 4.4 miles south of Salisbury, Pennsylvania. The federal route shares eight miles of pavement with the National Freeway. Photo taken 08/07/04.

A full-cloverleaf interchange facilitates the movements between Interstate 68 and the departing U.S. 40 west and U.S. 219 south. U.S. 40 overtakes the National Highway from U.S. 40 Alternate on the northwesterly turn toward Addison and Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
