The four-lane divided highway acts as a pseudo expressway here with an interchange at City Avenue and grade separation with Fitzpatrick and Old Soak Roads (the overpass pictured in the background). Now on the ramp to Interstates 64 & 77 (West Virginia Turnpike), a sign bridge partitions motorists into the northbound ramp to Charleston and southbound ramp to Bluefield. Interstate 64 west & 77 north meet the U.S. 19 connector in three miles for interests northeast to Oak Hill, Summersville, and Morgantown. Southbound drivers continues two miles to the split of Interstate 64 east from the Turnpike southbound. Interstate 64 meanders eastward from Beckley to Green Sulphur Springs, Lewisburg, and White Sulphur Springs before crossing into Virginia.
