| A ramp from the partial "Y" interchange to the Metro/MARC New Carrollton transition station travel over Interstates 95 & 495 south ahead of the directional interchange with U.S. 50 & Interstate 595. Interstate 595, a hidden designation between the Capital Beltway and Maryland 70 (Exit 24), was commissioned in the mid 1980s after a proposal to add Interstate 68 to the freeway was declined. Interstate 595 is not signed because officials determined it unnecessary due to the area familiarity with U.S. 50.
