Interstate 381 North
The Interstate 381 freeway spur begins imediately after the
Virginia 381 intersection with Church Street. A 1.67 stretch of highway lies between Church Street and

Nearing the end of Interstate 381 northbound. Kingsport is
added for the Interstate 81 southbound guide sign (Exit 1B). The city of Bristol, Tennessee is one of the
three tri-cities communities of northeastern Tennesssee. Kingsport lies north of Interstate 81 via Interstate
181. Johnson City lies south of Interstate 81 along the August 5, 2003 christened Interstate 26 extension.

Interstate 381 draws to a close. The stack interchange of
Interstate 81 & 381 is one of four interchanges within the city of Bristol of Interstate 81. Other interchanges
include Exit 1 (U.S. 58 & 421), Exit 5 (U.S. 19), and Exit 7 (Old Airport Road). Although omitted on all
Interstate 81 guide signs of Interstate 381, U.S. 58 overlaps with the freeway between Exit 1 and Exit 19

Interstate 381 South
There are no southbound off-ramps along the 1.67 mile stretch
between Interstate 81 and Church Street. An end advisory sign is posted one-half mile morth of the signalized

A railroad line parallels the southbound lanes between Church
Street and Spurgeon Lane. The official end shield of Interstate 381 exists on the block between the two
east-west streets. Virginia 381 overtakes the highway southward into downtown Bristol as Commonwealth Avenue.

Virginia 381 South
A tower of shields is placed on Commonwealth Avenue southbound
at Arlington Street in anticipation of the Virginia 381 junction with Euclid Avenue. Intersecting the

as well as Truck U.S. 11 & 19 northbound. U.S. 11W south & 421 north turn west onto Euclid Avenue to the right.
To the left (east) Euclid Avenue takes a solo U.S. 11 & 19 northward to the Lee Highway and Interstate 81 (Exit 5).

U.S. 11E-19-421 and Virginia 381 south and U.S. 11 & 19 Truck
northbound depart the Euclid Street intersection of Commonwealth Avenue. The stretch of pavement represents
the southbound beginning of U.S. 11E, a highway that eventually travels to Johnson City, Tennessee with U.S. 19.
U.S. 421 southbound departs the multiplex via Cumberland Street in five blocks.
