Maryland 282 is a rural route through southern reaches of Cecil County. The state highway begins at the community of Crystal Beach on the Elk River and travels east to Earleville, Cecilton, and Warwick. Maryland 282 used to travel Grove Neck Road from Chesapeake Haven to Crystal Beach Road south of Earleville. At that time Crystal Beach Road west of Grove Neck Road was a part of Maryland 283. Maryland 283 became part of Maryland 282 upon realignment and was thus decommissioned.1 The eastern terminus of Maryland 282 saw extension from Sassafras Road over the former Maryland 299 alignment of Cecilton Warwick Road to the Delaware state line. Thus Maryland 282 transitions into Delaware 299 east of Warwick.
