Maryland 285

Maryland 285 continues the roadway of Chesapeake City Road from Delaware 71 near Summit Bridge to North Chesapeake City. The two-lane rural road is designated Biddle Street between Lock Street and the Delaware state line. The highway forms a loop with Maryland 284 through the small residential village of N. Chesapeake City.

Maryland 285 draws to a close at Maryland 213 (Augustine Herman Highway). The state highway ends 0.3 miles west of the northern end of Maryland 284 (Hemphill Street) in North Chesapeake City. A pavement change demarks the state boundary between Delaware and Maryland on Chesapeake City Road westbound. The two-lane roadway becomes Maryland 285 (Biddle Street) on the 1.50 mile drive to N. The quiet neighborhood terminus is home to a lone Maryland 284 shield posted on Biddle Street westbound as Maryland 285 meanders through a small residential area alongside the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
